Why a blog about personal finance?
Ask any modern working girl if she considers herself to be one of Destiny Child’s quintessential “Independent Women” because she can “buy her own things” and you are likely to get a brood of fashionistas passionately throwing their hands up. Ask this same group how confident they feel about investing, paying off their student loans or calculating their net worth and you will get a much less enthusiastic response.
This disconnect is what inspired this blog and forthcoming book entitled The Billion Dollar Girls Club. The book provides a hip, avant-garde and fresh female perspective on the perennial topic of personal finance giving young women advice from a money coach that speaks their language, understands their gender-enriched financial ambitions (and inhibitions) and who has walked in their “overpriced but oh so cute” Jimmy Choo’s.
Written specifically with Gen-Y women in mind, The Billion Dollar Girls Club is packed with innovative, pop-culture infused, social media friendly strategies for getting “money clueless millennials” (“MCM’s”) out of debt and on the fast track to building riches – without the guilt trip.
